Court Rules

Tennis courts will be locked at all times!

Please remember your smartphone or key fob.

DO NOT prop the doors in any way.

Please read the following court rules and familiarize your family with them before enjoying our courts!

AVOID DAMAGE TO COURT SURFACES

  • Smoking, eating, and drinking (except water) are prohibited inside the court enclosure.
  • The blue benches on the tennis court are the only seating permitted. NO chairs or other benches are allowed on the courts at any time.
  • Tennis courts are for TENNIS ONLY.  No other uses are permitted, including, but not limited to Pickleball, bicycles, skateboards, roller shoes/skates, strollers, wallball, lacrosse, racquetball, badminton, volleyball, basketball, baseball, etc.
  • Snow may be removed from courts using squeegees and brooms ONLY. Due to severe surface damage, No shovels or other hard or sharp objects will be used.
  • Homeowners/residents will be held liable for damage to the courts. If damage is caused by negligence or vandalism by themselves, their family members, or guests.

COURT USAGE

  • Tennis courts are only for Homestead in the Willows residents and their guests.
  • Guests may play only when they’re playing with a resident; one Homestead resident per 3 guests.
  • Children under 9 years old must be accompanied by a parent or older siblings when playing on the courts.
  • Non-playing children must remain outside the court enclosure for their safety and as a courtesy to others.

COURT ETIQUETTE

  • Do not interrupt play between points.
  • Do not walk or stand in the back of the courts while play is in progress.
  • Before playing music, ask players on adjacent courts. IF playing music, play it at a reasonable volume.
  • Tennis gatherings should be respectful of neighbors living close to the courts.          
  • Place trash in the receptacles provided. NO Animal Waste or Diapers!
  • NO PETS are allowed on the courts – NO exception!
  • Proper attire must be worn at all times. This includes a shirt/tank top and shorts/tennis skirts. Proper tennis shoes must be worn by all persons entering the court enclosures. NO jogging, basketball, or sandals-type shoes will be allowed.
  • Any person wearing improper shoes or attire will be asked to leave the courts.

SCHEDULING AND PRIORITY

  • HOMESTEAD TENNIS PROFESSIONALS, AdvantageYOU, will have priority at all times of the Lower North COURT when needed for Homestead residents’ lessons, team tennis drills and tennis classes, etc. USTA and CTA match play and drill cannot be bumped. See Court Schedules.

PROCEDURES WHEN COURTS ARE FULL AND PLAYERS ARE WAITING

  • The first tennis occupants can finish the SET (not a match). They will give up their court and go to the bottom of the waiting list of those physically located at the court.
  • The player(s) at the top of the wait list will go to the court most recently vacated. They will play ONE SET of tennis.
  • This rotation will continue on all courts until players are no longer waiting.
  • Warm-up time before starting the set will be limited to ten minutes. 
  • If you are not going to play a set and want to practice hitting balls, the practice should be limited to 30 minutes.
  • General courtesy should be followed at all times.

SPECIAL EVENTS

  • The Homestead Tennis Manager reserves the right to schedule the courts for special events, such as neighborhood tournaments and USTA and CTA league use.
  • Special events will be posted on the tennis court about two weeks in advance. Interested players are urged to participate.

RESERVING PLAY TIME

  • The ONLY reserved playing time is indicated on the Court Schedules posted at the North, South and West Courts and detailed on the HOA website under the heading Tennis/Court Schedules. Otherwise, NO PRIVATE RESERVED playing time is available, and no homeowner is permitted to reserve the courts for any reason without prior authorization from the Homestead Tennis Manager.
